Planning a Halloween party, but want to keep it grown and sexy? Here's a dessert table I put together for the Halloween party we had this year.
I used my dining room table to create the center and focus of the room.
I added a black tablecloth with a deep red/purple runner I made from some cloth that I got from the craft store. Then I added some lace for elegance and to give it a vamp appeal.
I was going for a vamp and gothic feel, so I had to add the skull and bones, but also the roses to keep it from getting to commercial Halloweenish.
I just kept layering in all these elements. There's pumpkins, bird cages, black and maroon roses and warm electronic candles. You can't see these well, but there are also rats, crows and spiders on the table and cheescloth with spiderwebs on the chandelier.
A closer look.
The day of the party I started adding the food and I found these perfect candelabra at Michaels. In this photo you can see the crows and rats a little better. In the background I added a drink table and in the next photo you can see the hot food table on the left.
And here is the complete look. I baked all the desserts on this table which included vanilla cupcakes, chcolate drip cake, white chocolate dipped oreos, chocolate covered pretzels and chcolate chip cookies. I added fruit to give it some color.
When I say the party went up...that's what I mean. Everyone had a ball and the dessert table was a big hit! I don't call myself an expert in the slightest of ways, so if i can put this together so can you. The table wasn't perfect, but I was happy with it and our guest loved it!
